Lost in Austen

So I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen movies, so when Arlene ordered a movie called Lost in Austen from Netfix I was all for it. It's about a girl that somehow gets to switch places with Elizabeth Bennett in Pride & Prejudice. At first I thought it would not live up to anything close to the grea Austen flicks, but I was pleasantly surprised. I totally recommend it to anyone who loves Austen. It really is funny and keeps you on your toes. I think I might even purchase it. It's definetely something I think all my sisters and sister-in-laws would enjoy. Heck, I think my teenage neices with enjoy it too. (I love that they are starting to watch the English Period Movies that are so cute.) Anyway--order and see for yourselves!!!

Howdown Throwdown Anyone???!!!

So I admit, I really don't like the T.V. Show Hannah Montana -- as I shouldn't I'm 32 years old, RIGHT?!!!! Anyway, I was actually excited about seeing the movie. So, I convinced Kimala and her 2 kiddos to go see it with me. (Taylor -- 10 years old going on 20, didn't take long to talk her into it. Jace -- 6 going on 7 just liked the idea of going to the movies-- I think.) Anyway, long story short we saw the Hannah Montana Movie and I loved it!!! I'm turning over my unlike for Miley Cyrus and going out on limb by saying she is Great!! I still struggle hearing her talk -- on the T.V. show she can be soooo very annoying--, but the movie was well done and there are some sweet moments. Seeing some of the places of Tennessee in the movie really made me excited to drive through it with the girls coming up next month. Also, the fact that Rascal Flats is in it -- Kuddos!!! If you're a girl, go see this show. It's totally worth it! BTW: I want to learn the Howdown Throwdown -- is anyone willing to teach me?!!!!

Rock through the RADIATOR

My life is so blessed!!!!!!! Well in a weird way anyway. So here's the story. I was driving to work on a bright early Tuesday morning. Well I just get on the freeway just about to get on the large ramp that connects the 60 to the 202. I look down and notice my heat gage is well above the average and climbing. I panic -- "what's up" I keep thinking. I immediately pray that I'll make it to work, but no there is no way I can make to work. So, I start praying, "make it Jana's and everything will be O.K." Well with a few weird jerks and a slow speed I pull in to Jana's and Kyle's. (BTW-- I call my dad in a panicked voice to ask what to do. He says spray down the radiator while the car is running, so don't turn it off when I make it to Jana's.) I leave the car running, run to ring the doorbell, then run back to the car to open the hood. Meanwhile the boys -- up and ready for school -- wander out to see who/what's up. I frantically call for them to turn on the water and bring me the hose. They all run to help and Jana soon appears. We get the car all cooled down. Jana drives me to work -- note that I was not late. I call the repairman, he gets me fixed up with a tow and finds that my radiator has a hole in it caused by a rock -- what!!!!!! Yep, a rock through the radiator. After a day in the shop and $550 later, I have my car back. So I am blessed, at least I was able to make it to Jana's without dying on the freeway, and I made it to work on time -- it would have been awful if I was late because I didn't leave my plans out. The principal would have been UP-SETTT! I was hoping that I would at least meet a man after all this, but no such luck. Oh WELL!!! Life could be worse, RIGHT!!!

Phillie Road Trip -- I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Here is the only bright spot getting me through these next few weeks.

The Philadelphia Road Trip with the girls -- Arlene and Tracey. This is going to be AWESOME!!! Tracey is preparing a road kill journal and other fun things. I've been mapping out the trek and Arlene is offering up suggestions on where we should visit. Believe it or not, I'm more excited for the actual road trip than the time we'll be spending in Phillie and D.C. If anyone has any suggestions about what fun things we could do in the car or where/what we should visit, speak now!!! We are eager for any tips we can get.

Chocolate Cake & Lucky Charms -- A Delicious Duo!

Yes, my nephew, Jeff, is totally a teenage boy -- he's 17!!!! He was hungry the night he arrived at my house at about 10:00p.m. so he got some cereal -- Lucky Charms, cause they're Magically Delicious!!! Well those little charms weren't quite cutting his hunger cravings, so he added some chocolate cake into the mix. That's right -- he actually put the cake into the cereal bowl with the milk and ate it up. DISGUSTING--I thought, but he totally enjoyed the delicious duo!!!
